The Best Scary Moments From Thief’s Forsaken Asylum Level (Chapter 5) on Xbox One

Playing through Thief’s Asylum level was probably one of the most terrifying events of my life. The entire level is built incredibly well and creates an incredible sense of distress and denseness in the atmosphere. Check out the video I put together and see for yourself!

Titanfall Collector’s Edition Unboxing (Xbox One)

I did it. I purchased the Titanfall Collector’s Edition and I regret nothing! It was insanely difficult fitting the box into my truck after picking it up at midnight launch. Good times, good times…

Anyway, enjoy the video and I hope to see you on the frontier!

Thief Review: A Game That Should Have Stayed in the Shadows

Thief6
As I vaulted my way from rooftop to rooftop through Thief‘s opening sequence, following my imprudent protege, Erin, through The City’s malignant homesteads, my sense of anticipation for what Eidos Montreal’s Thief had to offer was at an all time high. Swirling mantles of mist caressing dingy city streets and moonlit rooftops paint a beautiful picture for the player to get lost within. Unfortunately, that’s where the game – for the most part – ceases to impress, as its intricately crafted setting can only fool the player for so long before he or she grows tired of Thief‘s redundant gameplay and decrepit storyline.

CS 108 Session Report – Paper Prototype – Post #2

This past Wednesday I began building a paper prototype board game, which I have tentatively named “Switch.” The game is a mix of Mario Party type gameplay with elements of Candy Land and requires 2-4 players to play. The main objective is to make it to the end space on the board before the other players.

Titanfall Beta Impressions – This isn’t Your Typical First-Person Shooter

When a game like Titanfall receives as much hype as it has over the past year, there’s always a chance that it won’t live up to its reputation. From what I’ve experienced over the course of playing Titanfall‘s beta this past weekend, that simply isn’t the case. Respawn Entertainment has gone to great lengths to provide first-person shooter fans with a fresh multiplayer experience that exudes bold, fast-paced gameplay. It is familiar, but at the same time completely foreign. It is solemn, yet playful in nature. Titanfall truly is a thrill-inducing experience that pushes the boundaries of the first-person shooter genre in all of the right directions. Hit the jump to find out more about my hands-on experience with Titanfall‘s beta this past weekend on Xbox One.

CS 108 Session Report – Flux and Mafia – Post #1

During our game lab class this past Wednesday my fellow classmates – Steve, Matt, Duc, Chin Pang, Anastasia – and I were able to sit down and play two different card games. The first game we played and the one I’ll be writing my session report on is Flux, an extremely chaotic game in which rules compound rules, leaving objectives open-ended and often unbalanced.
